Seva & Yoga
Cancer Support Community-Benjamin Center is delighted to be holding the Westside’s first ever YOGATHON and I joined as a virtual yogi! They have some of the best attended yoga classes and offer 7 yoga classes a week, all free of charge for people impacted by cancer. It makes sense that we honor this ancient mind-body practice which brings us all so much benefit in this fast paced, busy modern world of ours! They will offer you a complete YOGATHON Training Program with weekly group practices, a schedule of how often and when to practice to prepare for the event, tips and tools on yoga, meditation, nutrition and general wellbeing — as well as support in raising your funds. Some of the top teachers in L.A joining us are:
Annie Carpenter of Exhale Center for Sacred Movement
Tamal Dodge of The Yoga Collective
Rudy Mettia of Power Yoga
Sara Ivanhoe of Yoga Works
Kimberly Fowler of YAS Fitness Centers
Amy Rose Stabley of Yoga Works and Cancer Support Community
Suzanne Bryant, Filmmaker and star of “Yoga Is” the movie
Allyn Cioban of Naam Yoga, The Yoga Collective and Power Yoga
Leslie Kazadi of TruYoga
Christina Pabers of Naam Yoga and Rootlight, Inc.
As you can imagine by the fabulous line up of teachers, the event will include many different styles of yoga as well as meditation techniques, pranayama exercises, kirtan singing and chanting, great music, perhaps even some poetry, yoga sutras and dancing! We’ve got enthusiastic sponsors lined up, delicious food and beverages, amazing top fundraising prizes and so much more!
We look forward to sharing this very special event with you and this community!
