Let’s Move Kickoff

June 5, 2012

FAME Assistance Corporation, the host of Let’s Move LA, is excited to announce the launch of Let’s Move California, a statewide mobilization campaign to end childhood obesity. In support of First Lady Michelle Obama’s national Let’s Move initiative, Let’s Move California will take root in communities throughout California to benefit the health of our children. Let’s Move California will unite Let’s Move groups from across the state, highlight and support the great work being done by Let’s Move groups, and help connect ideas and share events.

To celebrate the launch, Let’s Move California is hosting a huge kickoff event on June 16th from 10:00am-2:00pm. Special guests include White House Advisor Sam Kass, Chef Wolfgang Puck, Attorney General Kamala Harris, the U.S. Army, Olympic athletes, and more! The event takes place at RFK Community Schools in Los Angeles, and will feature over 40 physical activities to participate in, hands on cooking demonstrations by top celebrity chefs, free health screenings, and lots of fun!  The address for the event is 701 S. Catalina Street, Los Angeles, 90005.

We want you involved! Help us to make this day a success by bringing your friends, family or group in support of this campaign. I have attached a flyer of the event, please share it will all of your Let’s Move members and your community. We are also asking for Let’s Move groups to participate by leading a physical activity, or by signing up as a volunteer. It will be a great opportunity for you to introduce your group to others, and to take part in this historic inaugural event. Go to http://letsmovewestla.ning.com/events
